Terms of Use

Effective date: 6 November 2026

About aki and these terms

aki is a community app for people who live or travel in vans. It’s provided by Alexandra Blixt, an individual based in Sweden (“we”, “us”).

These terms are an agreement between you and us. You accept them when you tap “I agree” at sign-up. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your personal data.

Who can use aki

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • Your profile must be accurate and about you. Don’t pretend to be someone else.
  • One account per person. Keep your login details to yourself, because you’re responsible for what happens on your account.
  • We review every new profile before it goes live, and we may decline one that doesn’t follow these terms.

Community rules

aki is for making friends on the road. It’s not a dating app. Don’t:

  • harass, threaten or harm anyone
  • share illegal, sexual, violent or hateful content
  • share someone else’s personal information without their permission
  • use aki to track or follow anyone, or turn up where someone hasn’t agreed to meet you
  • send spam or bulk promotional messages
  • create fake or misleading profiles
  • try to break, copy or misuse the app

Meeting people and staying safe

You choose who you connect with and meet. We review every profile, but we can’t check everything about every user or guarantee how a meeting will go.

  • Meet somewhere public the first time, and tell someone where you’re going.
  • Only share your exact location when you’re ready to.
  • If someone makes you uncomfortable, block and report them. If you’re in danger, contact local emergency services.

Reporting, moderation and suspensions

You can report or block any user from their profile. You can also report illegal content by emailing contact@aki.family: tell us what the problem is and where to find it. We’ll let you know what we decide.

A person reviews every report, including any chat involved. We don’t use automated moderation. If we believe someone’s life or safety is at risk, we may contact the police.

If we find a breach of these terms or the law, we may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close the account. We’ll email you the reason and the rule you broke, unless the law stops us or it would put someone at risk. If you think we got it wrong, reply to that email within 6 months and we’ll review the decision.

Your content

You own the photos, text and trip plans you share on aki. You give us permission to store them and show them in the app, according to your settings, so we can run and improve aki. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for messages other users have already received.

Only share content you have the right to share.

aki Plus

aki Plus gives you extra features. You buy it through the App Store or Google Play, which handle payment.

  • Plus renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Cancel any time before it renews in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. You keep Plus until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their rules.
  • If we change the price, we’ll tell you in the app first. The new price only applies from a renewal after that notice, and you can cancel before it does.
  • If we remove a main Plus feature, we’ll tell you in advance.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings or by emailing us. Our privacy policy explains what happens to your data. Deleting your account or the app doesn’t cancel aki Plus, so cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings too.

We may close accounts that break these terms, as described under Reporting, moderation and suspensions.

Our responsibility

We work to keep aki running and safe, but we provide it “as is”. We can’t promise it will always work without interruption, that you’ll find connections, or that what other users post is accurate.

We’re not responsible for what other users do, for meetings that happen outside the app, or for indirect losses such as lost earnings.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law doesn’t allow it, for example for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for intentional or grossly negligent acts. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

If we make significant changes, we’ll tell you in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account and cancel Plus before then. Small changes, such as clarifications, may apply straight away.

Law and disputes

Swedish law applies to these terms. If you live in another country, you keep the protection of your local consumer laws, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live.
